Other information
Private tours can be arranged, meaning it's just you and your group participating. Take contact if you want to book a private tour.
No experience dog sledding is needed, but you need to be normally fit and able to walk in some snow. For more information read our terms and conditions, or contact us for questions regarding health issues etc. We can adjust around your needs and preconditions.
400 words for snow
While the eskimos have 400 words for snow, we only have 3: good snow quality, bad snow quality and no snow at all. Conditions change throughout the season, and unfortunately we can not guarantee the best snow conditions at all times (although we got more snow than Bodø so keep that in mind - green grass in Bodø can be perfect white snow trails in Valnesfjord).
Normally we start dog sledding in trails direct from our kennel, sometimes we have to prep other trails nearby. Worst case is that the snow quality is too poor for proper sledding, meaning not safe for either dogs or people. In that case, we use a cart (wheels, no motor) where two people can sit next to each other while the dogs pull and a guide steer. The scenary is just as great from the cart, with views of mountains and Sjunkhatten National Park. We will always keep you posted about weather and snow conditions so you know what to expect.
